Prague is almost free of tourists in these months. Daily temperatures average 30 degrees Fahrenheit. When visiting during winter, arm yourself with warm clothing and minimize staying outdoors.

Spring (March to May)

Prague weather is mild during spring and tourists start trickling in. Temperatures reach between 40 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit. It’s warm enough to go outside and sightsee. At night, temperatures still drop to the 30s.

Summer (June to August)

Summer in Prague means the city turns green. Temperatures are mild within early July to August, averaging 75 degrees Fahrenheit. It gets warmer towards the tail end of August.

Autumn/Fall (September to October)

Autumn or fall is the best time to visit Prague. You’ll get blue skies and it’s only towards the end of the season when the weather turns chilly. Average temperature falls between 40 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit.

January

January in Prague is peak wintertime. Average temperatures run between 23 to 32 degrees Fahrenheit. This is also the coldest month, so unless you have specific reasons, you might want to steer clear from visiting during this time due to the extreme temperature. 

However, if you don’t mind the bitter frost, it’s good to be prepared during your stay. For one, pack clothing layers to keep yourself nice and toasty against the cold winter breeze. Shirts under sweaters, thermal wear if you tend to feel cold, along with thick socks, boots, and a long coat are a necessity. Also have gloves handy to beat cold hands.

Prague is generally a walkable city. However, if it’s too cold outside, take advantage of Prague’s excellent transportation system.

Another thing to note is that while there’s hardly any rain during this time, snow is to be expected. Prague gets around 11 days of snow during each winter month on average.

Despite the cold, a visit in January can be advantageous for budget travelers since hotel prices are much lower during this time compared to other tourist months. 

February

March

April

April is a fantastic month for Prague. There’s warm weather and lots of sunshine. Snow can sprinkle once in a while too. Temperatures during April run at a high of 62 degrees Fahrenheit.

May

May weather in Prague is ideal for sightseeing. It’s warm in the daytime, which is perfect for parks. There are rainy days mixed in but mostly in the afternoons. Average temperatures for May hovers at 64 degrees Fahrenheit.

July

July is peak summer in Prague. It’s one of the warmest months of the year. However, Prague weather in July is fickle so chance thunderstorms and rain can drop in. Temperatures average a high of 75.2 degrees Fahrenheit.

August

August is the warmest month in Prague. Travelers get nine to ten hours of sunshine, making it perfect for outdoor activities. Temperatures average a low of 73 degrees Fahrenheit.

September

November
