Location & How to Get To the Zižkov Television Tower
You can drive to the Tv Tower in Prague because Tower Park contains a car park. You could decide to walk from the Old Town Square in approximately 35 minutes. To use public transport, take the green metro line to Jiřího z Poděbrad. Walk into the park that has the big church. Look to your left to see the TV Tower. It’s only a five-minute walk. Tv Tower Prague Restaurant
Oblaca restaurant is often referred to as the Tv Tower Prague restaurant. The restaurant is actually the same place as the Bistro 66 restaurant. This restaurant is located 66 meters above ground level in the Zižkov Television Tower. The Bistro 66 offers breakfast from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM and then becomes the Oblaca Restaurant from then until closing at midnight. Also despite the fact that this Zižkov Television Tower restaurant only has the capacity to accommodate only 50 people at any given time, it is quite popular among tourists and locals alike for its famous modern Czech cuisine.
Tv Tower Prague Bar
Oblaca restaurant also features a very popular bar quite famous among visitors to Prague. If you do not feel like having any meal while visiting the Oblaca restaurant, you can simply head over to the Tv Tower Prague bar and get served by Achim Šipl. A famous barman who specializes in molecular mixology, and also recently won the award of the best Barman in the Czech Republic.
What to Do & What To See at the Zižkov Television Tower Prague
- Going at sunset is terrific when you add that to the magnificent views of the whole city, so be sure to pick a clear day. You can also see planes as they approach the airport, which is more than 20km away. You might experience the strange time when there is dusk in the city but there is still sunshine where you are..
- There are restaurants, a one-bedroom hotel, and an event studio.
- The restaurants Oblaca and Bistro 66 are right in the tower. It is actually the same place on the 66th floor. The Bistro 66 offers breakfast from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM and then becomes the Oblaca Restaurant from then until closing at midnight.
- In 2013 the Tower added a very small “One Room Hotel.” It is expensive but is a memorable and unique place to stay.

History of the Zižkov Television Tower
Construction began on the Zižkov Television Tower in 1985 during the Communist era. It was hugely controversial due to its desecration of an Old Jewish Cemetery. The Tower wasn’t completed until 1992 after the end of the Communist era.
Tv Tower Prague’s high-tech architecture, also called Structural Expressionism, emerged in the 1970s and was incorporated into the building design. The architecture utilizes new advances in technology, building materials, transparency in construction and design, all seeking to communicate the underlying function of the building’s interior and exterior. It makes extensive use of steel, concrete, and glass.
